How to Find the Customers’ E-mail Address Through Google?

Author:XTransfer2024-05-31

Google is a topic that all exporters can't avoid. If your company happens to be one that has no platform, no exhibition, and relies solely on salespeople to find customers, then Google is definitely your lifeline. Among the daily tasks of export work, when we know some information about the customer, we need to search for the customer's email and contact information. But how do we search for it? Today let XTransfer tell you how to get your potential customers’email address when holding limited information.

Knowing Company Name Only:

  1. Knowing the exact company name. If you want to know the exact company name, look for it on the company's website. We should rely on the website, and try to find the company's website as much as possible. Because a company's website is its official publicity window, the email's validity on the website will be higher. At this time, the work we need to do is searching for the company name on Google. Generally, if a company pays attention to its image on the Internet, Google can find the website quickly.
  2. Knowing an incomplete company name. If the company name is incomplete, we can use Google's wildcard "*", “*”can represent any length of keyword. We can search for the company name on Google: “company name *”+”website”. (There should be spaces on both sides of the asterisk). In the email search, the most effective way is to search for a company's website. If we only know the name of a foreign company that makes a product on a website, and we can't even find the website, the probability of finding the customer through email search is very low.
  3. We can also search for the company's email or contact information on Google: “company name”+ “email | contact”.

Knowing Company Website Only:

  1. If you know the company's website, you can search the website to see if there are any pages like Contact Us, About Us, Home, pdf download, etc.
  2. The second method is through the website's internal search. We can search for email by using Google search: site: domain email.
  3. The third method is external search. For example, if the website does not have an email address, we can search for it externally. We search for pages that are not on the website, and we search for them using Google. We search for pages that include the company's website and may have an email address. We can search for them using Google: domain email.

Knowing Customer Name Only:

If you only know the customer's name, it is very difficult to find their email address using Google alone. You don't know the customer's company website or the company, and the probability of finding the customer is very small. If it is difficult to find, you should give up decisively because there are too many people with the same name in the world. Two simple methods for finding the customer are

  1. Look for the customer's name on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
  2. Search for the “customer's name”+ “industry keyword on Google”. If you know the customer's country, you can set the region in the advanced search. That is, we can search for Google: “company name”+ “industry keyword” + “advanced search limit region”;

Knowing company website + customer name:

  1. Start by searching for email addresses using a domain name in a rough search, then repeat the search with the customer's name. Use the following format: “site: domain mail, com” + “name”.
  2. If none of the above works, use social media platforms to search for the company and the person's name.
  3. Find the company's phone number and call them directly. Ask who you should contact.

Knowing Company Name + Customer Name:

  1. If we know the customer's name, we can separate the name and surname, such as Jacky Zhang, so we can search for "Jacky | Zhang”+ “company name” If the company name is incomplete, we can add a wildcard "*", such as "Jacky | Zhang” + “Company Name *". This may help us find the customer's Facebook or LinkedIn account and establish contact. We can search for "Jacky | Zhang”+ “Company Name”+ “email | mail".
  2. There may also be a situation where the customer's name is missing. In this case, the search method would be "* Zhang”+ “Company Name", and we can consider searching for the email after finding the person.

Google searching for customers requires the flexibility to use search characters and thinking, ultimately finding high-quality relevant customers and contact information. This is a basic skill, but also a "a powerful weapon." Of course, if you are not very proficient in manually searching for customers, we recommend using this tool to mine customer email addresses, and not just email addresses, but also names, company websites, phone numbers, and social media profiles.

Summarize the situations and search methods we mentioned earlier:

-Knowing the company name: “Company name”+ “website”; “Company name *(asterisk represents wildcard)”+ “website”; Brute force method: “Company name”+“email| contact”;

-Knowing the company website: “site:domain email”; “domain email”;

-Knowing the customer's name: Finding through social platforms; “customer’s name”+“industry keyword”+ “advanced search limited by region”;

-Company website + customer name: “site:domain mail”, then “domain mail”+ “company name”; Find through social platforms; Find phone information and call directly;

-Company name + customer name: “Jacky | Zhang”+“Company Name”or “Jacky | Zhang”+ “Company Name *”; “Jacky | Zhang”+“Company Name”+“email”; If the customer's name is incomplete, “* Zhang”+“Company Name”,first find the person and then find the contact information.
