Guidelines for providing your business’s English name

For overseas companies: If your company incorporation documents already contain an English name, you must enter the English name as it appears on those documents. For cases where the company incorporation documents do not contain an English name, one of the following options may be used: the English name record-filed with the Ministry of Commerce/Customs, the English name of a registered trademark/website domain, the name of a non-Chinese mainland affiliated company, a name recognized by a third-party platform, or a transliterated/literal/interpretive translation. You may translate and submit the name according to the following guidelines and requirements; however, if the risk control department discovers that the English name is already registered, record-filed, or in use by another company, or if there is any suspicion of infringement, they will reject or ask you to modify the name, or submit additional documentation.

  • English name record-filed with Customs / Ministry of Commerce
Please provide Customs record-filing and registration documents (e.g., a screenshot from the Customs online portal) / the Foreign Trade Business Operator Record-Filing Form.

  • Registered trademark English name
Please provide the trademark registration certificate.

  • Domain name registration
A domain registration certificate is required. The domain must be registered under the applicant corporate entity's name or under the name of its legal representative, a director, or a major shareholder (holding 25% or more of the shares). The company website associated with the domain name must also be provided, showing the company’s information and primary product categories.

  • Third-party platform English name
The English names used on platforms such as Alibaba International Station, Made-in-China, and AliExpress must be registered under the applicant corporate entity’s name. The relevant website address must be entered in the company website field.

  • For the English names of affiliated companies in other regions (outside the Chinese mainland), supporting documents such as business licenses must be provided.

  • An “affiliated company” is defined as:
1、A company in which a common shareholder holds an equity stake of 25% or more in both it and the applicant entity, OR a company in which the applicant entity holds an equity stake of 25% or more.
2、A company where the applicant entity’s legal representative or a shareholder holding an equity stake of 25% or more serves as the legal representative (or director) of the other company.
Note: The English name of an affiliated company must not contain regional geographic designations (such as HK). If such a designation is included, it must be removed before the affiliated company's English name can be used. Example: Duohui Technology (HK) Co., LTD would need to be changed to Duohui Technology  Co., LTD before it can be used.。
